Do you need a car? Do you want a quality vehicle that is both economical and safe? Is it possible for you to own a good quality car without it costing an arm and a leg; and you can do this while helping the government in the process?

It sounds amazing and impossible, doesn’t it? Rest assured though that is quite true: you too can own a quality vehicle at an extremely affordable price, and you get to help the US government when you this.

This is made possible by taking part of the various US auto auctions. Help the government defer costs by purchasing a vehicle from them. This will save you money on your purchase and help save tax payer’s money in the process. It’s a win-win situation for all.

What is in the jellybean jar?

You can purchase all types of vehicles from US auto auctions in your area. Depending on which government agency is conducting the US auto auction, you can find vehicles like regular sedans but you may also find specialized vehicles. Tractors, police vehicles, heavy trucks and ambulances all fall under the specialized vehicles category and you may find and purchase these through a US auto auction.

While US auto auctions by the government usually auction off vehicles that were previously owned by government staff, there are also US auto auctions that sell off seized properties. These seized vehicles at US auto auctions were previously confiscated when either by the US Customs and Border Protection or any US Treasury agency. Usually you can find a lot of fantastic finds at these auctions for luxury vehicles at affordable prizes.

The process

It is quite an easy process to purchase previously owned vehicles from the government through US auto auctions. You can be one of the thousands of people who have benefited from attending and purchasing from US auto auctions. All you have to do to begin is check out your eligibility for these auctions. Usually, government agency employees and their immediate family cannot join US auto auctions by the agency that they work for.

Next, check out the schedules and location of the US auto auctions near you. Once you have gotten the schedule and location, you must register to participate for your chosen US auto auctions. Registration for these auctions is for free.

Make sure to take note of the auction house’s Inspection Day and take advantage of this time to carefully inspect the vehicles before hand. This will give you a chance to choose which vehicle you would like to bid on and what kind of condition it is in.

All these details, with the help of the auction catalog that you can either find online or at the auction house, will help you calculate your budget and target price for the vehicle.
